EXPERIENCED TRANSLATORS
We run an ongoing recruitment process to attract professional translators. We would love to hear from you if you fulfil one of the criteria we have adopted from the ISO 17100:2015 Translation Services:
A recognised graduate qualification in translation from an institution of higher education;
A recognised graduate qualification in any other field from an institution of higher education plus two years of full-time professional experience in translating;
Five years of full-time professional experience in translating.
NB:
In some countries translation degrees may be referred to by a different name such as linguistic studies or language studies. If the course includes translation training, it is considered equivalent to a translation degree.
Noting that the word “graduate” can have differing application in differing educational jurisdictions, in this International Standard it includes the first degree level of academic award issued by a recognised institution of higher education.
Full-time professional experience means full-time or equivalent.
Please note, unless the situation demands otherwise, we only work with professional translators who work into their mother tongue language.
GRADUATE TRANSLATORS
Here at Talking Heads we also have opportunities if you are just starting out in your career as a professional translator. These opportunities enable us to see your natural ability whilst heavily analysing / checking your work for quality, utilising feedback from established professional translators through our strict QA review processes. This type of practical experience in commercial translation is invaluable for any new translator.
NEW INTERPRETERS
There is a wide range of interpreting work available through Talking Heads. Given the current language requirements in the UK for interpreting it's not always the most experienced or qualified who are in the highest demand - although we do of course value those elements!
EXPERIENCED INTERPRETERS
We would very much like to hear from experienced Interpreters to work on projects within sectors such as the Public Sector, Law Enforcement, Legal, Commercial, etc.
NEW / GRADUATE INTERPRETERS
We are very experienced at working with new Interpreters and can help you gain the experience and possibly qualifications which you require to become a professional Interpreter. Please don't let a lack of experience or qualifications put you off from registering with us.
